I'm not sure why this rule is in place, but I reckon it's not to give the avantage of berserking in games lost by forfeit on move 1, or disconnection after move 3, without a fight.
That being said, in atomic, lots of games end by checkmate ("by variant" technically) in less than 7 moves. For instance : en.lichess.org/Je17K7QpihGd. In this game, I had a forced mate in 3 after move 4, went for it, and missed on one tournament point. I should've played a waiting move (7. Bb5) and won on move 8, but didn't think of it.
Can an exception be made to the "no bonus point if game is less than 7 moves long" when games end in checkmate / variant ? I don't think tournament rules should give incentives to play suboptimal moves on the board :)
