In a funk

I am in a funk. My rating just plummeted 150 points over the past couple of weeks.

Do you take a break for a while?
Keep on pushing and hope to break through?
Switch type of game?

Other ideas?

Thanks
Naaaah - as long as I have fun and enjoy playing, I just keep losing - and only stop when it gets really embarassing or frustrating.
Rating chart is never a linear progression, but it is nice when it is showing a positive trend over a certain amount of time.
As long as you are still improving, there will be up- and downswings, just try to make sure each time the peak is a little bit higher than it was before. And stay positive: every losing streak will turn into a winning one around!
If you feel down about it, then step away, take a break for a while - else happy chessing and all best! :-)
I have been playing more Correspondence games which is a change of pace.

I like to play blitz mostly because the game takes the right amount of time. It is hard to find more then 10 minutes of free time to play longer games.

Funkmaus- I agree that it can be up and down it just seems I have been down and down lately. I am sure it will turn around. I appreciate your optimism.
In your games you are moving too fast with single move threats. You should take more time to spot the threats and avoid them.
I do not take a "break" (at least not in the true sense of the term) when I have a losing streak, for example 2 weeks ago I lost 75 bullet points and I didn t stop playing it even if I play it less this week (because I try to progress in a little slower modes) on the contrary we must continue and learn from your mistakes. afterwards you will have better results :) good luck!
