I cannot see the board or pieces

Not sure if this helps but if you use an plugin that changes colors (like Dark Reader) I find it can make the pieces disappear. Turning off the plugin solved this issue for me when I couldn't see pieces. (I have to do this with other websites. Not just Lichess)
@ioxod thats not an excuse for making a product that some people cant enjoy, i would rather they should have 2 versions old and new where anyone can switch thats what facebook did some years back but switching off completely without beta-test its absurd
This site is whatever they want it to be. End of story.

There's no obligation to do anything. They could shut the site off tomorrow if they wanted, which with all the people complaining so badly like lichess offended their entire family, I wouldn't be surprised. So much negativity for something that is completely free.

Facebook has a financial and fiduciary obligation to keep users on the site because the users are the product, they are what Facebook sells to make money and serve ad content. Lichess doesn't. You're comparing apples to hammers.
Hey guys I have been trying to play games but not seeing board or pieces some people say you ban us for not moving how do you know if you are banned. Maybe I can see anything because you banned me. Still using xp. I am not up grading nothing wrong with xp. works great.
No one is getting banned.

If pieces aren't showing you are most likely using a browser (or version of that browser) that is no longer supported. Upgrading your browser is likely to fix it.
Yes, Windows XP is "fine", but it is really old and has nowhere close to optimal performance. You don't even need that good of an computer. I use a 10 year old computer but it runs windows 10 and chrome, so lichess is perfectly fine. My advice is to just use windows 10 + newest chrome.
Windows XP is not fine. Microsoft dropped support for it 5 years ago (after supporting it for 12), as did most software vendors. I'm surprised folks are still using XP and expecting things to "just work".
