My 10 most memorable lichess games

ChessLichessAnalysis
With more than 40 thousand games and 3 years on lichess, it is of course difficult to pick my 10 most memorable games, but that's exactly what I have done. After all, I need some quality content for my blog!

All right, so let's get into my most memorable lichess games.

1-My most epic flag

Let's start with some blitz!
Most of you would be anticipating a blog like this to start with a game that i would have won.
But that's not the case!
During one of his streams, GM Vasif Durarbayli asked his viewers to send him casual challenges, but casual games are the last thing on my mind. I took the risk of a rated 3+0 game, and he accepted it, thinking it to be a casual one.
He played casually, I played cautiously, till both of us had about 20 seconds on the clock.
The he went into his beast mode, and I entered my blundering mode.
I started playing quickly till i had around 14 seconds, and he had 4. But he was way up in material, with a couple of queens. I blundered my rook, which meant i was only left with my king. But he had less than couple of seconds on the clock. I started moving insanely, which meant i was able to flag him, and he missed numerous mate in 1s due to time pressure. I gained 6 points despite a draw, and when he came to know it was a rated game, the next thing he did was declined all rated challenges.
Here's the game, you can watch the endgame in real time, it's pretty cool!

2- Never underestimate a knight!

Time for some hyper bullet!
I was a beginner back then, and it was obvious that I played ridiculously.
Coming to the game, my opponent was up in material, had 16 seconds on the clock and i just had 6 seconds, which meant the result was obvious.
However it all changed within a matter of 2 or 3 moves, when i was moving my knight like an insane guy, and my opponent didn't capture it, which resulted in my knight causing destruction in my opponent's camp in just 3 moves.
Here's the link of the game. Watch from move 33 to move 35. No need to watch the rest of the game, else you will block me for publishing such a terrible game in this blog.

3- Shifting gears

Time for some same chess !
This rapid 10+0 game was played by me around a year ago, and the fact that our combined acpl is 200+ and our combined blunders are 29 shows that it was a blunderfest!
Anyways, coming back to the game, at move 50 i had less than a minute, and my opponent has more than 5 minutes, giving him a significant advantage.
His position was slightly better, but the way that he had been playing that day, I knew i had a chance.
He blundered a lot, and i started playing cautiously yet quickly, else i would run out of time. On move 68, i had the positional advantage, but i had just 20 seconds on the clock, whereas my opponent has 4 minutes. The game was not yet finished, a lot still needed to be done to convert the winning position into a win. I pushed my pawns, sacrificed my queen, and queened two pawns, which meant i was way up in material. But he still had 2 bishops and a lot of time, and he could have easily flagged me.
On move 87, when i was sure i would capture one of his bishops, i had a look at my clock. I had just 3 seconds!
I decided to enter ultra bullet mode, i made 13 premoves in a row to checkmate him. That's insane! 13 successful premoves in a row in a rapid game!
I just won within the nick of time!

4- Flagging a 2600 opponent in a rapid game with a mate in 1!

The title explains the whole game in a nutshell. The habit of playing speed chess sometimes helps you win unexpected slow games! No need to watch the full game, just watch how it ended, as f4# was a mate for him.

5- Defeating a 2600 rated FM in an increment rapid game.

One of the rare games in this blog where time is not an important factor.
The fact that he had a +5 advantage in the opening and yet i managed to win the game is no less than an achievement!
The fact that i was able to trap his queen without panicking is one of the highlights of my chess career so far

6- Berseking against me in a bullet game is not the wisest decision!

Had he not berseked in this game, GM Gevorg Harutjunyan would have easily converted this position into a win.
But I finally managed to defeat the expert chess coach after quite a few failed attempts

7- 2700 rated GM resigned!

One of the rare games where i can boast that i played beautifully.
It turned out that i had an accuracy of 97%!
Taking nothing away from the fact that he blundered, I think that i can say that i deserved this win

8- The bishop dance!

Not settling for a draw proved to be costly for this 2600 rated bullet star.
Watch the game in real time from move 57, when he had 1.9 seconds and i had 1.7 seconds, and then you will relate to the title!

9 - My first win against a GM!

I have shared this game numerous times, in my blogs, in the forums, in my team messages, but it never gets old. Whenever i watch this game against GM Zviad Izoria, I love each and every moment all over again.
Unlike other games i shared in this blog, there is nothing iconic in this game, it's just that the game holds a special place in my heart!

10- Finally, the epic Nihal Sarin win

Saving the best for the last, it would come as a surprise to most of you that an amateur like me has actually managed to flag a legend like Nihal Sarin in his very own fortress, ultrabullet chess!

Here's the game
