Is listening to music good while playing chess?

Hello, Is Listening to music good or bad while playing? Is it okay to listen to Hip-hop or etc etc?
Depends what time control you are playing. If you are playing rapid/classical play slow music or classical music. For blitz maybe pop but a faster and for bullet and ultrabullet, rap thats fast

The same might be asked of you. Is listening to music good or bad while playing? That's really up to you. ;) Although OTB you might get some complaints.
Not recommended. Once you get used to it, this will become an addiction and you will have to fight yourself to get out of such practice, while playing the board games either in tournaments or with friends.
I hear while playing online games, sometimes it helps a lot but not sure if its really not a bad habit or a distraction. Sometimes some aggressive music pops up in my mind while playing OTB Tournaments and I start to fight better.
I have the radio on while playing but don’t really hear it a bit like when my gf talks to me when I in the middle of a game , she cud say I’ve had enough and I’m leaving you and I’d say yeah yeah ok . I don’t hear anything while I’m playing xxx
I find music counterproductive when I need to focus. Music is something I want when I'm getting bored, which is not exactly what happens when I'm playing chess. However I do listen to instrumental music from time to time when playing, anything that is not too distracting.
