Worst part is that puzzles like this prevent me to reach my new records in puzzle storm

...or not. Puzzle's rating is not arbitrary, it reflects how successful were people trying to solve it.

Click on Puzzle Dashboard and hover your mouse over the lowest rating in the center of that web. It's not the number of puzzles you do, it's that lowest value that you only can see that needs to be improved.

Change the number of days and that lowest value changes too with a different tactic. You then find the tactic in themes to correct your weaknesses. Press ctrl F and type the tactic name to located it quickly.
Probably the weakest tactical rating we have are the themes we have not done. And we wonder why we are not improving. We are practicing only what we know.

I got it right for the wrong reason. Maybe others too? I considered between taking the rook and giving a check first. I thought its better to give the check because then it forces the recapture. Maybe if I take directly he can try Nd6 - but that's not the issue. The key thing is that we have to promote with check which I didnt see.

Which is IMHO exactly the reason of relatively low rating. The obvious first candidate move is also the correct one and so are all following moves you are asked for. As the application does not care if you calculated everything properly in advance or just went step by step by intuition, most users get the solution right.
