TRICK QUESTION IT BETTER BE lichess!!!
Do you like tactics or maneuvering?
maneuvering

Castling side? Queen or kingside?
Kingside in most openings queenside rarely unless I have serious initiative.

How much do you pay attention to details in the opening such as gaining / keeping / or making your opponent lose a tempo?
Its something I think about multiple times every move.

What kind of pawn structure do you like or not care?
I really really like neat pawns. Carlsbad structures are my favorite I also like to have an Isolated a pawn where I can push push and get rid of it. It can give me something to do in some cases. I like doubled pawns sometimes in the Ruy as black where my king can be safer and I can use the doubled pawns to control the center. In general I am a neat freak.

Do you like being a pawn up or having initiative?
Pawn up. I would like to have an extra pawn then I can sit solid and hope to win or draw a pawn up endgame.

Sacking or solid?
Solid but sometimes I think I can sack when I should not even consider it.

Favorite players playstyle? Tal / Petrosian / Kasparov / Fischer / Karpov / Kramnik / Morphy? What do you play like and what do you like the most visually?

Caruana, Karpov, Kasparov, and Kramnik are my favorites.

Stop your opponents threats or make your own?
Stop my opponents threats and wait for blunders. I like to provoke weaknesses if I can.

Favorite pawns to push?
h pawn and a pawn but mostly the h pawn.

Endgames, middlegames or openings?
Openings for sure

Counter attacking / defending / attacking?
Counter attacking or creating an attack out of nothing or nowhere once my opponent has over extended.

Favorite openings?
QGD Exchange positional
QGD
Slav QG
Queens gambit
Queens gambit accepted - from white only.
Ruy Lopez some slow variation where white keeps two bishops and brings the C knight to g3.

First instinct when someone does this lichess.org/7vVBQdLZ#20:
Take on g5 with the knight and keep the pin / get two pawns plus attack. Or just go back.

Take!! But I often dont take.

Pet peeves you have yourself? habits?
I get mad or frustrated if I made a move and missed a tactic. Generally if I see a tactic after I made a move I can get discouraged and toss the game in the garbage and start playing garbage chess.
Move order is the same way. If I know I could have done it different I will get frustrated.
I really get mad when my opponent plays a inferior line I know is bad. I try and punish but sometimes I play too quick and I punish myself instead.

Bullet Blitz Classical or regular tournament length time controls 40/2hrs +5s delay + 1 hour?
Long chess anything over 2 hours is good. I like correspondence since I see a new position every day and I am less likely to blunder. Plus I miss stuff some days and see new things every day in the same position.

Bishops or knights?
Two bishops with one knight. I like bishops slightly more depending on the opening and who I am playing.

How long have you been playing?
Since November.

Is the dutch defense in your opinion "garbage"?
Yes its trash. Lets not make weaknesses around your king.

e4 e5, d4 d5, d4 nf6, or e4 c5? Order?

1. d4 d5
2. e4 e5
3. d4 nf6
4. e4 c5

Describe yourself as a player.
Slow player(not meaning the clock), gain small advantages and hope for blunders.

LICHESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Do you like tactics or maneuvering?
Tactics!
Castling side? Queen or kingside?
Queen, that way I can ruin my pawn structure on the kingside along with destroying the pawns protecting his King

How much do you pay attention to details in the opening such as gaining / keeping / or making your opponent lose a tempo?
Sadly, not at all

What kind of pawn structure do you like or not care? I like pushed pawns, the structure doesn't matter

Do you like being a pawn up or having initiative?
I use pawns so the pawn
Sacking or solid?
If I am playing casual sack crazy, if rated sacks rarely

Favorite players playstyle? Tal / Petrosian / Kasparov / Fischer / Karpov / Kramnik / Morphy? What do you play like and what do you like the most visually? I play more like Simon Williams in real life, my favorite is Tal now.

Stop your opponents threats or make your own?
MAKE MY OWN!!

Favorite pawns to push?
Harry the h-pawn (as GM ginger would say)

Endgames, middlegames or openings?

LICHESS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Lol:)
Yeh the only thing we have in common is we like Harry the H pawn. XD.
'Castling side? Queen or kingside?' Kingside, almost exclusively.
'First instinct when someone does this lichess.org/7vVBQdLZ#20:' Retreat. Mwahaha! I'll play on their weaknesses.
'How long have you been playing?' Since 2009.
'Is the dutch defense in your opinion "garbage"?' No, I don't play it myself, however.
'e4 e5, d4 d5, d4 nf6, or e4 c5? Order?' (assuming I'm black) 1. e4 e5; 1. d4 d5; 1. c4 e5.
Do you like tactics or maneuvering?
Tactics. Maneuvering is too slow/too boring.

Castling side? Queen or kingside?
I prefer queenside, but the openings I play don't allow for that much time to be wasted.

How much do you pay attention to details in the opening such as gaining / keeping / or making your opponent lose a tempo?
Not a tempo, but I use specific lines to dictate pawn structure.

What kind of pawn structure do you like or not care?
Semi-open files for each player. Most unbalanced.

Do you like being a pawn up or having initiative?
Pawn, but depends on which pawn and how strong the initiative is.

Sacking or solid?
Attacking. This normally does not involve a sac.

Favorite players playstyle? Tal / Petrosian / Kasparov / Fischer / Karpov / Kramnik / Morphy? What do you play like and what do you like the most visually?
Alekhine. Spassky should be here too. Kasparov is great player.

Stop your opponents threats or make your own?
My own.

Favorite pawns to push?
f pawn.

Endgames, middlegames or openings?
I play the openings like a grandmaster (their thoughts are in opening books.) Middlegame like a master (I see a lot of combos and attacking plans.) Endgame like a computer (the old ones that did poorly.)

Counter attacking / defending / attacking?
Attacking.

Favorite openings?
Dragon and Dutch. Provide fighting chances.

First instinct when someone does this lichess.org/7vVBQdLZ#20:
Take on g5 with the knight and keep the pin / get two pawns plus attack. Or just go back.
Instinct says take. Intuition says the attack will fail.

Pet peeves you have yourself? habits?
That I am good at chess.

Bullet Blitz Classical or regular tournament length time controls 40/2hrs +5s delay + 1 hour?
Anything over 5 minutes takes too much thought.

Bishops or knights?
Knights. Bishops have only been thought of as better for about a century.

How long have you been playing?
Longer than most people have been alive.

Link to your best game ever played?
Tough choice. Several here which I have 3 centipawn loss. Cheap checkmate against a GM. A sac against a 2000 player who thought that since all the pieces were protected, that a combo could not exist. My first tournament game where I crushed a 1600.

Is the dutch defense in your opinion "garbage"?
The Dutch is a great opening which gives both players a chance to attack.

e4 e5, d4 d5, d4 nf6, or e4 c5? Order?
Sicilian, Indians, double QP, doube KP.

Describe yourself as a player.
Tactical, attacking player. Easily bored with quiet positions.

lichess or chess.com/?
Lichess, of course. Chess.com has better forums.
Do you like tactics or maneuvering?
Maneuvring. It's not about who can calculate deeper, but who can come up with most original ideas (knight routes, ways to control the center, develop a piece, etc.)

Castling side? Queen or kingside?
Does not really matter, though queen side usually leads into more interesting positions

How much do you pay attention to details in the opening such as gaining / keeping / or making your opponent lose a tempo?
A lot. Basics are the most important thing in chess. Good understanding of pawn structures, tempo, center control is what cuilds chess.

What kind of pawn structure do you like or not care?
Give me that square for my pieces! I like somewhat closed structures (though not to much).

Do you like being a pawn up or having initiative?
Pawn up. So I can trade, trade and win in the endgame without doing anything much.

Sacking or solid?
Solid! Though I love positional sacrifices.

Favorite players playstyle? Tal / Petrosian / Kasparov / Fischer / Karpov / Kramnik / Morphy? What do you play like and what do you like the most visually?
Other people usually say my playstyle is a lot like Karpov's, though I see simmilarities with Petrosian and Philidor also.

Stop your opponents threats or make your own?
Make my own. More fun then defending.

Favorite pawns to push?
If he castles kingside h4! not because I want to attack, but because they become scared of non-existent ways for me to checkmate them. It also usually opens a file for my roo.

Endgames, middlegames or openings?
Without a question endgames. How can you control an army of 16, if you can not understand how to fully control a single piece? I love being abled to understand position from start to finish.

Counter attacking / defending / attacking? Counter attacking is quite fun.

Favorite openings? Nimzo-Larsen, Ruy Lopez, French, Traxler

First instinct when someone does this lichess.org/7vVBQdLZ#20:
Take on g5 with the knight and keep the pin / get two pawns plus attack. Or just go back.
Don't risk. He made his king weak anyway. So why sac now, if you can attack without sacking later?

Pet peeves you have yourself? habits?
Blitz out 5 moves, then spend 50 minutes on a single one. Also, play an opening someone not knows, or just a move he did not expect and proudly walk away to rest while it is his turn.

Bullet Blitz Classical or regular tournament length time controls 40/2hrs +5s delay + 1 hour?
regular tournament length time controls, though it is 90+30 and 30 minutes after move 40 in most european countries.

Bishops or knights?
Bishops. I hate knights, such a tricky piece making you blunder something after and amazing plan you just finished.

How long have you been playing?
Almost 9 years, but with breaks.

Link to your best game ever played?
idk, I have many good games, hard to choose a single one, though here is one to show what I consider a good game.

Not garbage, but not top tier either

e4 e5, d4 d5, d4 nf6, or e4 c5? Order?
e4 e5, d4 nf6, d4 d5, e4 c5

Describe yourself as a player.

TRICK QUESTION IT BETTER BE lichess!!!
sakramchess.com is better
Very interesting responses. Looks like we got a mix of players that like positional and tactical play.

#6 "Instinct says take. Intuition says the attack will fail." Exactly the same here.

#8

"Describe yourself as a player.
Let's play a game which will last 8 hours, but nothing much will happen." YES! In tournaments this is my intention. :)
Do you like tactics or maneuvering?
-I'd say I mixed it up. I typically try to increase the number of tactics I have by maneuvering pieces here and there.

Castling side? Queen or kingside?
-Depends on the game. I'd castle queen side for Caro-kann and the French defense and other closed system games, mainly because I like being the side with more space.

How much do you pay attention to details in the opening such as gaining / keeping / or making your opponent lose a tempo?
-Frequently.

What kind of pawn structure do you like or not care?
-I like flexible pawn structures, so I can convert into an open or closed system if I wanted and so that I have a bunch of pawn sacrifices ready at my disposal.

Do you like being a pawn up or having initiative?
-Initiative. I try my best to win at endgame.

Sacking or solid?
-Solid then sacking.

Favorite players playstyle? Tal / Petrosian / Kasparov / Fischer / Karpov / Kramnik / Morphy? What do you play like and what do you like the most visually?
-Why isn't Anand there? But out of the list provided, I like Fisher style of play.

Stop your opponents threats or make your own?
-Make my own.

Favorite pawns to push?
-Flank pawns.

Endgames, middlegames or openings?
-Opening and mid-game. Endgames can be quite boring and one-sided.

Counter attacking / defending / attacking?
-Counter-attacking.

Favorite openings?
-White: Reti Opening, King's knight, and English opening
-Black: Sicilian defense, Caro-kann defense, Scandinavian defense, and Indian Defense.

First instinct when someone does this lichess.org/7vVBQdLZ#20:
Take on g5 with the knight and keep the pin / get two pawns plus attack. Or just go back.
-Attack with the knight.

Pet peeves you have yourself? habits?
-I tend to continue playing even when there seems to have no hope. Typically to gain a draw.

Bullet Blitz Classical or regular tournament length time controls 40/2hrs +5s delay + 1 hour?
-Classical or Blitz.

Bishops or knights?
-Bishops, because at the end-game, you can checkmate with two bishops but not with two knights

How long have you been playing?
-I've been seriously playing chess for about 3 years.

Link to your best game ever played?
-That's hard. I mostly excel in real life tournaments.
Many times I have swindled wins from overconfident players.
Since I can't pick, here's a successful Fried liver attack. Yeah, it's cheap.
http://en.lichess.org/D3kq0cv3i5lE

Is the dutch defense in your opinion "garbage"?
-No way, I frequently play it.

e4 e5, d4 d5, d4 nf6, or e4 c5? Order?
-Sicilian, Indian defense, Double Queen's pawn, Double King's pawn

Describe yourself as a player.
-I enjoy playing gambits, so you can probably guess that I'm quite and attacking player. I also will find ways to swindle wins, because I know that once the opponent think they're winning, they'll slip.
