Puzzle solved - scored less, got it wrong - lose more

This post is to understand the working logic.
First of all, i have to admit that, based on replies that i received on my last post, i learnt many things about solving puzzles and slowly i m improving on it.
Recently i have observed that, when i attempt a puzzle rightly, i win comparatively less points, but when i get it wrong, i lose much more. It is also observed that, points are not necessarily worth for the puzzle. Can someone throw a light on this?

For example, it took me a lot many puzzles to reach from 1700 to 1800 and just withing 3 wrong puzzles, i was back to almost 1700! (I have to say that, the points deducted were too much!)
That is exactly as playing games - when you win a comparatively weak opponent your rating grows just a bit but if you loose it drops considerably.

The rating of the puzzle itself determines how many points you can win or lose with your given rating. It is like pointed out by @george1960 : highly rated puzzle = big gain/little loss, lowly rated puzzle = little gain/big loss. And vice versa for the puzzle: Every puzzle is changing your rating and the rating of the puzzle itself.

[So, are harder puzzles better on us, because they win us more points and lose us less points? No! Every puzzle is equally important, it weighs the same total points handed out to you and the puzzle. I want to say, the difference between your scores for solving or failing a puzzle is the same in both cases: Say you get 20 but lose 10 for solving or failing a hard one: difference is 30 points for you between solving and not solving. Say you get 5 points for solving an easy one but lose 25 for failing it, it is the same difference, 30 points].

First, I want to mention the subjective part of finding puzzles ratings wrong, that we sometimes think 'that was easy' or 'that was hard' while it simply wasn't true for most people.

But, more importantly, the rating of a puzzle is not always perfectly in accordance with its difficulty, just like a player's actual rating is not always showing her or his real rating capabilities. What I want to say is, a 5-year-average would show a more real number than the actual number could provide alone.

But we cannot score according to that (5-year- or maybe last-5000-attempts-) average rating, simply because it is the average of the momentary ratings. You can only get to the average via the momentary ratings.

So all we can say about puzzles seeming to carry the wrong rating (apart from our subjectivity) is that they are sometimes over- and sometimes underrated, not by negligence but due to the process; and that it affects us in both directions and will balance out in the long run.
Regarding #3: rating of puzzles are always hidden
The rating shows after the solution. You can reopen your 15 most recent puzzles (8 on mobile) by clicking on the green and red +7 and -12 squares under your currant puzzle, replay them (it will say+0 regardless of being solved or failed on rerun) and find out about the ratings.
The higher your puzzle rating, the more you are penalized for missing an easy puzzle. When you have a low puzzle rating you are rewarded with more points than someone who has a high puzzle rating. Puzzle rating are meaningless, just an encouragement to reward you for practicing, have fun while you practice.
