Insults in the chat.

Anybody who insults or trash talks in the chat gets an immediate one way ticket to my blocked list.

I don't want to play with assholes.
@SIowpok
You have to choose between being messaged something you don't like and having conversations.
I really don't want lichess becoming as strict as chess dot com. It's quite outrageous of you to suggest permanently banning players who use obscene language. (I'm assuming it wasn't directed at you.)
If you're a child (There are some on lichess), there's a kid option somewhere in the settings.
Different players want different things here. In a perfect world I'd like people who want no-holds barred trash talk to be able to have it with each other, but we also need to have people who only want polite talk to have a good experience. Design a solution for this?
@Schwatka

Some people have nothing better to do than to stare at chat and wait for someone else to offend them via some superficial insult. The OP is one of them.

There should be a 'Mature' option to check mark that enables 'Anything Goes' type of chat where only others that have selected this option can see what has been typed. This would not exclude the ability to see normal chat. Its just that all the SJWs and kiddies would not have access to the mature content. All trash talk and manner of debauchery allowed, etc.

Back in the day when FM Emory Tate was still alive and playing in open tournaments, I had the pleasure of sitting next to him between rounds, while he played skittle blitz games. His trash talk was constant and was the funniest shit I've ever heard coming from a titled player.
Earlier today I've had a bad experience with someone who insulted me for refusing a takeback proposal in a rated game. That player accused me of unfair behaviour, I answered that if the game had been casual I would have been willing to accept a takeback proposal but not in a rated one. Later, I wrote him (or her) a note to explain my view: it's not fair to ask for a takeback in a rated game where a player's rating is at stake, if I had accepted, chances were that I might have lost the game, so my opponent was basically asking me for an unfair advantage. So far, my explanation doesn't seem to be effective, my opponent has just insulted me and paid no attention to my argument. It's sad to notice how aggressive people can become sometimes. I hope there will be a chance to settle this issue with my opponent if he ( or she) decides to answer my note.
@ABC90

Not worth it, don't worry about settling any issues; you did nothing wrong. Your opponent is probably a troll that lacks chess etiquette and understanding of what a Rated game means. Move on and have fun...
