It is chess. But different. Its the same there is a difference between G/5 and G/45 to 40/2 + G/1 with a 5 s increment.
Every time control is different and plays different. Now some variants I am not so sure I can call them chess but... They do involve thinking/strategy of some kind so for the purposes I will say it is "chess" but not "chess." My theoretical opinions on "chess."

Yes correct theoretically. :) Chess variants are not chess but still chess. Same with time controls to some extent but I can give more leeway for time controls than for variants.
If you don't like bullet, you can always play 1/2 minute game here :p
When I watch a Hansen - Naka bullet marathon or any other high-level player play, they often play better moves than I do in a classical game. Just because it is shorter doesn't mean there aren't quality bullet games.
Some people don't get the purpose of bullet. It is simply about fun!
Do not take it as serious chess because is not.
And yes... it could make you play better but not the way like classical games make you improve. With bullet, you learn to manage time trouble and spot (and create) all sort of tactical traps.

Yes, bullet is good to learn how to manage time and make fewer mistakes/blunders. Actually I improved time management a lot since i had started playing it. 5 min for me like classic now. :)
Bullet Chess is a sport/game that test one speed of memories recall of Openings, Middle and End game. These will only come from playing experiences in classic chess. This type of chess give one practically no time to ponder except to look out for immediate dangers. This definitely a more difficult sport/game to play. I cannot play Bullet because it will jammed my brain or my heart might gave way. lol. What is so absurdity about bullet chess? IMHO. Hearing from you friends again, bye.
Tie all 2000+ rated bullet players to the stake and burn them. Its the only solution.
